Proverbs 22:6 – Train up a child in the way he should go, even when he is old, he will not depart from it.
I thoroughly enjoy home schooling my youngest son. The past three years have been a great learning path for both of us. I am always amazed at how much we’ve learned during the school year. Oh, how time flies. To celebrate the end of this school year and beginning of summer, we decided to take part in a few cool activities:
We attended the kick off to the Summer Movies Under The Stars at the local outdoor amphitheater. Each month they are hosting free kids/family movies at night. The season kicked off with the Disney/Pixar movie Planes. We really enjoyed the outdoor evening event with the stars above and the cool breeze and nature sounds all around.
We also went to the zoo where my son took part in a harnessed rope obstacle course. We have been working to strengthen his coordination and motor skills and this was a great way for him to see just how much he has learned and can do now. At first we were a bit apprehensive about the height but with me encouraging him through it, he did great! We were so excited and proud!
And what’s summer without the bathing suits, goggles, sunscreen and towels? We are hitting our new favorite fun spot every week now that the water park is open for the summer.
We are having a great time celebrating all the accomplishments from this past school year and look forward to more learning and fun as we transition into Third Grade. Happy Summer!
